Polished Brass on Black Steel base

I am always influenced by the metals I use. Twisting and polishing until the effect is achieved. Here the slender ribbons were cut from a solid 10 gauge brass pipe. The lighting on the curved surfaces and on the edges have a satin like quality. The viewer has a feeling of ribbons suspended in space. My fascination and inspiration was with the quality of the metal and the reflective quality.
